Summary
Like the ghetto that surrounds it, Stooley’s is very cramped, loud, a bit chaotic, and full of students. This is not necessarily a bad thing. The wings were good, especially for the price. Wings are $0.50 each on Thursdays, and they’re pretty tasty. Stooley’s might not be for everyone, but this group left happy. Try the fries.
The wings at Stooley’s are a little smaller than you might be used to because they are not battered, but they’re still plenty delicious. If you love a good saucy wing, you won’t be disappointed. Stooley’s small size and attentive staff really add a certain charm that you’re unlikely to get anywhere else, but be warned that if you’re coming on a Thursday night be prepared to wait for a table.
For a cramped, very busy space, the wings are a good – the volcanic wasn’t really as volcanic as i thought it would be, but the guy from our group eating them seemed to be crying at one point, so it may have just been my spice tolerance.
Stooley’s superior heat retention may be partially due to the fact that they seem to bring the wing servings when they’re ready and not when the whole table’s has been prepared. We don’t observe conventional table courtesy and we like hot wings, so this is a point in their favour.
I’d go back. My soul was full.
We will return.
